At Kinda Education, we don’t just offer jobs; we offer a way of being. We are a community of practitioners dedicated to holding space for children, young people, and adults to reconnect with nature and themselves.

Working in the woods requires resilience, heart, and a deep commitment to child-led, trauma-informed practice. If you are passionate about SEMH support and the magic of the forest, we would love to hear from you.

Working at Kinda Education is a rewarding but physically demanding role that takes place entirely outdoors in all weather conditions. It is essential that our team members are resilient and comfortable working in a wild woodland environment throughout the seasons.

As we work with vulnerable children and young people, safeguarding is our highest priority. All successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references before commencing work. We are committed to safer recruitment practices to ensure the protection and wellbeing of our entire tribe.

  • Coordinators

Our Coordinators , within the woods or within the office -are the backbone of our daily operations, ensuring the "flow" of the woodland day is both safe and soul-fed.

They hold the big-picture vision for Kinda, expertly balancing the administrative needs of individuals, referrers and schools with the wild, child-led reality of the woods. A Coordinator leads the adult tribe, ensuring that safeguarding remains our highest priority while maintaining a culture of consent based, participant led, non judgmental and trauma-informed practice. They are the primary point of contact for families and external partners, using their deep understanding of SEMH needs to ensure that our pedagogical standards are met with consistency, integrity, and a healthy dose of awe and magic.

  • Nature Mentors

Nature Mentors - are our  practitioners, responsible for weaving together emotional safety and the magic of the woods. They are highly skilled facilitators who "sit beside" our adults and young people, offering the safe, nurturing presence needed for deep emotional regulation and social growth. Beyond facilitating activities such as whittling or fire-lighting, they are keen observers of the "whole person" using their expertise to guide participants through celebrations and challenges with patience and heart. By balancing high-level SEMH support with a genuine sense of adventure, they ensure that every individual feels seen, heard, and belongs. Empowering to flourish in their own time.

  • Play Catalysts (also apprentices)

Our Play Catalysts are the heartbeat of joy in the woodland. This role is for those who champion play as the fundamental language of wellbeing and connection. By fostering wonder and creating space for pure, unbridled fun, they bring infectious energy and a "pick up a shovel" attitude to every session. This role values the vital importance of community, being present and playful, mastering the craft of nature-based mentoring through hands-on experience and shared laughter.

  • Hearth Keepers (cooks)

The Hearth Keeper is the heart of our site. They ensure the fire is going, the kettle is on, and a healthy, vegetarian lunch is prepared for the whole tribe. This role is about more than just cooking; it’s about creating a sense of "home" and physical safety in the woodland. They are our noticers! They look out for the facilitators as well as the participants.
